Due to the lack of roof lights in factories, which are often blocked by cranes, industrial cranes are usually equipped with lighting equipment. If the customer does not have any specific requirements, the crane is usually equipped with incandescent lamps, high-pressure sodium lamps or halogen lamps to assist in lighting and facilitate the operation of night workers. However, due to the divergence of the light they emit, crane operators see the light from the side, which weakens the operator's sight of the cargo being lifted.

LED lighting is different from other lights. Their high concentration of light greatly reduces the risk of blindness for crane operators, making it easier for operators to focus on lifting goods and avoiding obstacles. In addition, as with traditional types of lights, LED lights do not need to be cooled for a long time (up to 20 minutes) before restarting. You can turn it off at any time as needed. When replacing the existing lighting equipment on a standard 10-ton crane with LED lights, it can save up to 70% of crane energy consumption. Generally, the motor that consumes the most power is a lifting motor, and the lifting motor is not continuously driven, so most of the energy is consumed in lighting facilities. Large cranes can also save 40-50% of the energy cost of the whole crane.

Other benefits: LED lights can be lit immediately, have a long life, and do not need to be replaced as frequently as traditional lighting. At present, the service life of a new generation of LED lamps can reach 10 years under normal use. In contrast, standard lights are more prone to damage due to vibration and normal use, and may need to be replaced every two to four years.

Refitting a crane with LED lights is very simple. If the crane is already equipped with lighting equipment, only the lighting components and switches need to be replaced. Due to the low energy consumption of LEDs, existing transformers are usually sufficient. If the crane is not currently equipped with lighting equipment, we can provide all necessary components such as transformers, relays and installation instructions. Either way, replacement and upgrade usually take less than a day.
